Welcome to Mrs. Jackson's first grade website. I am excited to begin my twelvth year at Saint Stephens with a new group of children under my wing. It should be a fun and rewarding year for all of us. Please feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns.
This website will be broken down into different categories to assist you in the education of your child.
Language Arts: We spent this week working on long a words. In Grammar the kids were introduced to the concept of a verb. We also spent some time writing a letter to a special friend. Next week we will study the s blends. | Math: The children were exposed to their first experience with fractions and probability. At this level the children will be learning that a fraction is used to name equal parts. Thus far we have worked on 1/2, 1/4 and 1/3. |
Religion: This chapter introduced the children into saying "Yes" to God in our lives. We are to live as Jesus did on earth. | Social Studies: The children ended their unit on our country. We learned about famous landmarks such as Mt. Rushmore, Statue or Liberty and the Washington Monument to name a few. They need to begin their President project. |
